Lucky Paws LLC Doggie Boot Camp Programs What is Doggie Boot Camp? A unique and comprehensive education for your dog. Dog Boot Camp is similar to a board & train program without having to send your dog away. How does it work? We do the training for you, in your home, neighborhood and other locations where you most want your dog relaxed and well behaved. We schedule several sessions weekly, picking your dog up from your home or one of the daycares we work with during the day while you are busy working or running errands. Who is it for? Any dog in need of training and owners who have a busy schedule that doesn’t allow them time to attend group classes or spend enough time training their dog to a level of their liking. Dog Training Boot Camp is also great for more complex behaviors like leash reactivity & aggression. Click on one of the programs below for more information. Benefits of Boot Camp One of the many benefits of the Lucky Paws Boot Camp Programs is that the training is done in and around the dog’s home, so transferring the behaviors is much easier than with a traditional Board & Train program. Training that would take weeks or months can be accomplished in a shorter period of time. Training is done by a professional and practiced around many distractions to create a dog that can behave in many different situations, not just a classroom. Training can be done while you are at work, so you get to come home to a dog who hasn’t just been sitting in its kennel all day. Our Day Training Programs are similar to “doggy boot camp” or Board & Train programs that you would send your dog away to, without having to send them away! With our Day Training programs, your mind is at ease knowing that your dog is at home with you each night while still getting the benefits of a professional doing the training for you! The Basics of Day Training Dog Boot Camp Depending on the type of program you choose for your dog, typically 2- 4 training sessions will be done each week one on one, just Heather and your dog. Each training session is approximately one hour long. Transfer sessions will be done weekly, bi-weekly or at the end of the program, to teach you what we have taught your dog. We can come to your home or pick up your dog from one of the daycares we work with for Doggie Boot Camp. You do not need to be home when we arrive (although you are welcome to be) and we will either do training in your home or take your dog on a field trip depending on the behavior we are covering that day and how your dog is progressing. All programs are fully customizable to your specific needs. We understand that your dog may already know some of the behaviors listed in certain programs, in which case we can replace that with something he could use some help on.
